As an introductory course to power electronics, the class will investigate basic principles, operational details, and steady-state/transient responses of various PWM dc-to-dc converters. The class will use PSIM models/simulations to substantiate theoretical discussions using License-Free Copy of the PSIM software. Simulation examples incudes: Solenoid drive circuits, Capacitcharging circuits, Buck converter, Boost converter, Buck/boost converter, and Bidirectional boost converter, Cuk Converter, Flyback converter, Forward converters, Bridge-type isolated converters, and PFC rectifiers
